POTOMAC – Tuesday, Congressman John K. Delaney won the Democratic primary contest in Maryland’s Sixth District. Delaney, the only former CEO of a publicly-traded company in Congress, was first elected in 2012. In the last general election contest, Delaney received 58.8% of the vote.

Last week, Delaney aired his first television ad of the cycle. The ad highlights Delaney’s bipartisan infrastructure jobs bill and can be viewed here. Delaney’s Partnership to Build America Act would create millions of jobs and is the biggest piece of bipartisan economic legislation in Congress, with over 40 Republican and 40 Democratic cosponsors.

Congressman Delaney issues the following statement:

“I would like to thank everyone who has offered their support for my candidacy to represent the Sixth District in the House of Representatives. Campaigns are about ideas, not individuals, and I am humbled to have hard-working Marylanders from Garrett County to Montgomery County join me in working for a stronger and more competitive America. As we head into the general election, we’re excited that our message of big innovative bipartisan solutions to the critical issues facing our country has been so well received by the voters of the Sixth District.”
