GAITHERSBURG – John Delaney’s campaign has begun airing a new television advertisement across Maryland’s Sixth District. The spot, titled “Story” highlights Delaney’s unique background and his bipartisan approach to getting things done in Congress. Delaney’s infrastructure bill now has over 40 Democratic and 40 Republican cosponsors. Former Secretary of Transportation under President Reagan, James Burnley, has called Delaney’s Partnership to Build America Act, the “most original, creative idea on infrastructure financing in the last 30 years.”

The ad is posted online here.

The script is as follows:

Delaney: Here’s one thing my father the electrician taught me – it takes work to get things done.

I started a Maryland business from scratch, creating thousands of jobs.

New to Congress, I put problem solving ahead of partisanship – helping local businesses, serving people.

My infrastructure plan will rebuild our roads, bridges and create jobs – without more taxes.

I’m John Delaney, I approve this message because an independent approach solves problems and puts people first.

Delaney is the lead Democrat on legislation to make it easier for companies to conduct an Initial Public Offering (IPO), The Improving Access to Capital for Emerging Growth Companies Act, H.R. 3623, and was one of just two members of the Maryland House Delegation to vote for the conference version of the Farm Bill (H.R. 2642), which will directly benefit Maryland farmers. Delaney has also voted for bipartisan legislation to establish a permanent research tax credit (H.R. 4438), bipartisan legislation to combat unfunded mandates (H.R. 899), and bipartisan legislation to simplify regulations (H.R. 5405) as well as a package designed to help companies grow and improve the economic climate (H.R. 4).
