GAITHERSBURG – John Delaney campaigned in all five counties of Maryland’s Sixth District Monday, meeting with voters and discussing his platform from Garrett to Montgomery County. Delaney knocked on doors in Grantsville and Hancock and greeted early voters in Cumberland, Hagerstown, Frederick and Germantown.
“From Grantsville to Germantown voters are concerned about the economy and the future of the middle class, they want their kids to have a chance to live the American Dream, and they want to make sure that our veterans and seniors receive the benefits they’ve earned,” said Delaney. “Sixth District voters are frustrated by the dysfunction in Washington. That’s why I’ve brought a new approach to Congress, putting facts and results ahead of ideology and writing a bipartisan jobs bill with over 40 cosponsors from each party that creates jobs and rebuilds our infrastructure with no new taxes. We’re going to sprint to the finish line in this election, because what we’re fighting for is too important not to: economic opportunity, reform, and fairness. There’s no substitute for talking to voters one-on-one and we’re excited about the momentum and enthusiasm behind our campaign with eight days to go before Election Day.”
After founding and leading two successful businesses in Maryland, Delaney was elected to Congress in 2012. He is currently the only former CEO of a publicly-traded company in Congress.
Delaney has been endorsed by the Washington Post, the Gazette, Washington Jewish Week, and the Hagerstown Herald-Mail.
