Delaney Congratulates Winning New Hampshire Candidates as Democrats Win State Senate, House and Executive Council
Delaney endorsed 50 Granite State candidates this cycle
WASHINGTON – Congressman John K. Delaney (MD-6) says that New Hampshire Democrats like Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-2), Congressman-Elect Chris Pappas (NH-1) and the scores of local candidates who flipped Senate and House races have shown the party nationwide what it takes to win. Democrats are poised to take control of the New Hampshire Senate, the New Hampshire House and the Executive Council.
Delaney endorsed 50 candidates in New Hampshire this cycle and made 12 campaign trips to the state. Delaney has made providing financial and organizational support to local candidates a priority.
“Congresswoman Annie Kuster and soon-to-be Congressman Chris Pappas should be applauded for the races that they ran. What they’ve done is provided congressional candidates around the country with an instruction manual: you work hard, you talk about the most important issues, you behave with decency and civility and you win,” said Congressman Delaney. “The big gains made by Democrats in the statehouse should also be applauded. Candidates like Jon Morgan in the State Senate District 23 won key races by offering voters an alternative based on new ideas. We made these local races our priority in New Hampshire and I’ve been so impressed by the candidates running this cycle. From the time we first started campaigning in New Hampshire last year, it was clear that there was incredible energy on the ground. New Hampshire is the ultimate battleground state and Democratic victories here will reverberate nationally.”
