GAITHERSBURG – The Delaney campaign held the grand opening of their Gaithersburg office this Wednesday evening. Over 100 volunteers and supporters attended the office opening. The office is located at 14 Bureau Drive, Gaithersburg MD 20878 and is open seven days a week. The campaign will hold the grand opening of their Hagerstown office next week.

Speaking to volunteers at the event, Delaney stressed the importance of tackling the middle class jobs crisis, working with both parties in Congress on new solutions, responding to climate change, and standing up for the Sixth District’s values of fairness, justice, and opportunity.

“April and I continue to be humbled by the energy, passion and support of our volunteers and supporters,” said Delaney. “Elections are won by dedicated individuals standing up for their principles and getting the message out, one phone call, one email, and one door-knock at a time. The stakes of this election are very high and I’m excited to fight for middle class jobs with my bipartisan infrastructure bill, offer new innovative solutions to reform Congress, and continue to stand up for my constituents in Washington.”

After spending two decades working as a Maryland entrepreneur, Delaney was elected to Congress in 2012, when he received 58% of the vote. Delaney is the only former CEO of a publicly-traded company in Congress. Delaney’s infrastructure jobs bill, the Partnership to Build America act, is currently the largest piece of bipartisan economic legislation in Congress and would create over one million jobs in a fiscally-responsible way. Delaney is the author of the Open Our Democracy Act, which 1) creates open primaries for House elections so that independents can vote 2) begins the process for redistricting reform and 3) makes Election Day a holiday.
